concrete typography my email to tom sachs
An hommage to a big inspiration; Tom Sachs. The only thing given was, make a letter out of one material. I picked the letter S randomly out of the hat and as this one is not only one intial of my inspiration but also a very hard one to make it freestanding. My first idea was to make the letter out concrete, simply because I never worked with this material & I wanted a challenge. The email that I sent to Tom Sachs actually received an answer and even though he said he wouldn’t be able to come by and help me with this, he helped me a lot on this very heavy project just by that simple answer. (*this is how my love to the material concrete began.)
